The Aussies are going down as fast as they can, it almost seems like MSD may have paid them a ‘bit’ to all fly home.

I can understand Lee, Siddle and Paine, but Henriques? Come on, the season’s just started for them and he just came off a 2 week T20CL and he already goes down! Hmmph!

It does bring that extremely funny question to my mind, Are you New Zealand in disguise? I saw it first used to describe Australia’s loss against Bangladesh in 2005 @ Cardiff. The crowd was said to have chanted, “Are you England in disguise?”.

New Zealand, too, have a big probs with injuries. I’m not sure if most of you know it, but, during the 1st test here @ Galle, during the last day, when they were fielding, they were down to less than 11 fit men that the reserve keeper, Reece Young, who wasn’t in the first XII, was given permission by Sanga to come on as keeper after Baz was out with the bug. There was a situation where Andy Moles and the physio were prepared to come and field (no jokes, ppl, I ain’t shitting you), but Ross Taylor and Jesse Ryder, obviously knowing the possible psychological scars that could come about by seeing Moles field, decided to stay on.

It even prompted a local Sunday newspaper to say that they all had the ‘air’ bug! 😀

Meanwhile, there’s a particular player in the Aussie dressing (or injury) room who’s showing the finger to all those wusses….

Australia….the New Pakistan….

…in the eyes of an Indian.

Looks like people consider Australia as the team to beat at all costs. It was, not too long ago Pakistan, but with Pakistan having plunged to the depths of mediocrity, Australia have now wrested the mantle from them.

I make this statement after having watched ‘Victory’, a Hindi movie depicting the life of an Indian cricketer, the adultation and hate that he faces. It’s a really good movie, because the director has got the services of an army of current and past international cricketers to give the movie a very realistic feel.

The cricketers include Harbhajan Singh (who does mutter a bit after being carted by the hero 😀 ), Ramesh Powar, Ashish Nehra, Brett Lee (who really does a lot of realistic acting e.g. the hero’s name is Vijay Shekawat, and he always shows the V sign with his fingers. When he’s dismissed for a duck by Lee, Lee says ‘hey (shows the V sign, and then inverts it and moves it front and back) and tells him to walk away), Stuart Clark, Brad Hogg, Albie Morkel, Dimi Mascarenhas, Simon Jones, Sohail Tanvir, Graeme Smith (who keeps saying that Vijay’s shots are a ‘fluke’. He gets a mouthful back after Vijay hooks the bowlers and then says ‘we call that shot a hook, not a fluke’!)

It really is something everyone should watch.
