Nope, I shit you not!
Let me introduce you to Tillakaratne Sampath, who is TM Dilshan’s brother.
I was so dang surprised. I never remembered seeing a link to Sampath’s profile on Dilshan’s profile on Cricinfo.
However, a Cricinfo report which mentioned a big score made by Sampath, brother of TM Dilshan, is what drew my attention.
He, too, converted from Islam to Buddhism, like big bro, and he was born in Jaffna (which, for the uninitiated, is a place where there are barely any ethnic Sinhala people)!
The plot thickens!
😀
Edit: Anonymous points out the actual source, which is an article from a local daily, Daily Mirror.
I also noticed that Cricinfo have put a link to Sampath’s profile on his page! So it’s me and Daily Mirror fighting over who get’s the credit for the future increase in the number of hits on Sampath’s profile page!
Good pick CT, brother looks evil, but then Dilshan's no angel either.
Did you read the article below on Island Cricket today, and "suddenly" discovered Sampath? 😉Tillekaratne Dilshan’s brother slams 158 runs
NC, good 'un, if only he could get some more bling, then he'd look evil and cool! :DAnon, I actually saw the Daily Mirror article… 🙂
Huh? They have the same first name but different last names? What a special family.
Purna, I was thinking the same thing when I first saw his profile…Generally, such cases are found only in Tamil people i.e. the SL offie's name itself is Muralitharan. His dad's name is Muthiah. The plot thickens even more! 😀
So all these years we have been referring to his dad? Tragic!
If you're referring to Murali or Dilshan, no, we've generally been calling them by their last names, so it's perfectly fine! 🙂
I found a lot more on him here: Tillakaratne Sampath
