Couldn’t watch about 97 overs of the match as I had to go to a wedding, but from what I read on Cricinfo, looks like No.2 ODI bowler in the world, Nuwan Kulasekara, has found out, with great success, that the Aussie style of appealing really does work!
Apparently, Kulasekara screeched an appeal against Sachin after sending down a leg-cutter. Jerling didn’t seem moved, but that didn’t deter Kulasekara. However, Sachin, after a couple of seconds, started pointing to his bat, which made Messers Jerling feel that Kulasekara had an honest appeal and gave him out.
Next up, Yuvraj got a big inside edge onto his pad, but Gamini Silva got swayed by the appeal of our dear culprit and gave him out!
Message to budding paceman : Even though the Aussies are going down South, their way of appealing still seems to be effective! (I don’t really see them appealing as much as they used to. Perhaps that’s why everything’s going pear-shaped!)
